Chefs Choice Tomatoes...

I have seeds for the orange, pink and green varieties and was wondering if anyone has grown and tasted them and willing to share their thoughts... I know everyone has different taste, but i'm just looking for any info I can get on them??

I was interested too but waited out this year for independent comments. There is another discussion on the forum about Chef's Choice. F2 is supposed to be way better than F1 and F3 not so much. So maybe save some seeds of the F1 so you can compare next year with your F2's and it will be even better.

Where did you get your seed from? Is it pelletized?

I bought them thru https://www.seedsnsuch.com/product-c.../chefs-choice/ and nope not pelletized.

I personally would never buy/grow a tomato without history and reviews.
Even then half of them turn out to be something that I don't like and won't grow them again.
I wait for your review at the end of season.

I've grown all three--Orange is a vigorous, productive plant with beautiful, large fruits. The flavor was just okay but it is a beautiful addition to fresh salsa. I probably should try the pink one again. It was a strong grower with large tasty fruits but I don't remember harvesting very many. The green fruits were smaller than expected and the plants weren't especially vigorous or healthy. I have one orange planted this year just for the salsa.

Same with me and the Orange daddybill! Orange was a big producer for me last year and it made the cut again this year! Nice size, not overly big, pretty decent taste, probably a 6-7 for me, (not many get 10 from me) lol but nice big healthy plants!

Trying pink and Green for the first time this year. Hoping for similar results!

I say go for it!

Stopped off to check out Kaw Valley Greenhouse (a temp set up in grocery parking lots in the midwest), and they have the orange in a 3 inch pot for $1.99.

I actually started a plant, color unknown from a kind donator from MMMM. Can't wait to see which color it is. Undecided about buying one. I was not shy to start many plants this year.

I like the orange. Productive, disease resistant, pretty orbs. Enjoyed the flavor on my mid to late summer grown specimens

I'm wondering why my Chef's Choice Orange F1 tomatoes are only the size of a golf ball. Very, very prolific. Sweet and fruity. Unusual orange yellow color. Will grow every year.

Every seed catalog has them at 8 oz to one lb. I don't remember if the seed that I started was from the MMMM swap group buy or sourced elsewhere.

I am way ahead of the usual time for ripening fruit due to the relentless early summer high temperatures. Could this be a factor in the fruit size or is my seed unusual for this variety?

Your fruit size is not what I experienced when I grew a store bought plant a couple of years ago. I got the 8oz to 1 lbs size...

Orange was good for me, and the only one I've grown thus far. Nice moderate size plant, good flavor, large attractive fruit. There's a lot to like. It is similar to another one of my favorites, Orange Wellington, but a slightly larger plant and somewhat less oblate fruits.
