Okay, now I see your pics. YES, you have more than just a little squash there!
6 summer squash, sliced 1 Vidalia onion, sliced 1 Tbsp butter 1 Tbsp olive oil 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar 1/2 cup grated parmesan 1/2 cup sour cream 1 small canister french fried onions Heat the butter and olive oil and add the squash and onion. Sauté until soft. Remove from heat and cool briefly. Add cheese and sour cream. Place in a greased casserole dish and bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. I also like summer squash dipped in beaten egg and then dredged in seasoned bread crumbs and pan fried, served with marinara. Yellow squash is equally good as zucchini this way, IMO. Enjoy all that squash!

Wow, and so healthy! I'm guessing you have a farm stand? |

I have a bigger All American at my cabin, and that's a good idea to can some, it will be good this winter. I've been cleaning out my mothers house trying to get it ready for sale... Almost 60 years of stuff she accumulated, and ran across 3 pressure cookers. 1 Revere Ware and 2 presto's the jiggler on one looks like it was shot off and hit ceiling. The Revere Ware has a dial weight on it that looks damaged also I don't think I can trust any of them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Your garden is beautiful. You need a farm animal for your overflow. My cow, Sugar, gets a lot of tomatoes in the late summer.

You can can, freeze, pickle and make preserves from summer squash, set aside the winter ones to cure. A food pantry may take them, too, and check with a meals on wheels program.
If you still have too much, drive around during church hours and many will not lock their cars at service or put the bags on the hoods or in the pick up beds!!! Wal-Mart is also good for finding pick ups to put a sack of summer squash in the bed, watch for dogs, though. |

My cousin is a ear nose and throat surgeon and received seeds from a Dr. He works with from India. The doctor and his wife grow the same squash, melons and cukes every year. The squash has big leaves and weird flowers which grow about 6" above the leaves. The flowers are white with a tinge of purple. They are just starting to produce fruit which appear to be curled and oblong, I'm thinking this may be a winter squash as it is slow growing. When the fruits get bigger I will get pics of them. The melons are strange looking too almost like a cross of a cantaloupe and musk melon. I will save seeds from them and would be happy to share if you would like any. I asked my cousin if I could get the names of them, he said yes... But I haven't heard back from him yet.

Also, in case you do not know, patty pan can be used as a winter squash. Just let them go as you would to save seeds, scoop out the seeds and stuff them with a sausage crumb mix and bake.
