Why I love Tomatoville!

2 years ago, I was struggling to produce ANY tomatoes between the deer, squirrels, pests and disease. I grew just a few types of tomatoes.

This year:

1) I grew 60 different types of tomatoes - almost all graciously donated by T-villians! Thank you.

2) I grafted many of my tomatoes with patient guidance from T-villians! Thank you.

3) I used lean and lower and my 12 - 15 foot vines are still producing. Thank you T-ville!

4) I'm using a combination of bleach, copper, and daconil to fight disease - I have the best looking tomato and squash plants ever. Thank you T-ville!

5) I'm using a variety of strategic insect controls . . . learned right here on T-ville.

6) I've saved many seeds this year so that I can give back - one tomato was even accepted into the Nifty Fifty! (Thanks Tormato!)

This year has had a lot of personal & family challenges. Gardening has consistently given me the peace I needed to be sane! (Well, somewhat sane.)

I have also been helped a great deal by the fellow Tomatovillians (like you )on more than one ground.
Being in a new location in the south I am learning new things and I hope to do better the next season.

This gave me back the ability to grow and harvest tomatoes. After four years of dwindling production, T-ville members helped me realize I had soil diseases, and then gave me lots of help and support with my first attempt at grafting. It's wonderful having plants that are still healthy in mid-August and almost more tomatoes than I know what to do with again.

Same here! Without T'ville, I would have nothing but diseased stumps this year!.

TV is the best! Always great advice, a story or two, even some debates, but always informative and really bad for tomato addicts! Each time you think you're going to stop collecting seeds, someone recommends another tomato!!

The Sunrise Bumblebee is a bit late but coming along now with many turning colour. Sweet and delicious. Beautiful to look at too.

Sweet Sue is a beautiful tomato, especially when it blushes. Taste is lovely and sweet. One odd thing I noted when I tasted the two Sues I have tried so far was a fishy taste at the start of one and the same fishiness at the end of the second. Never had that happen before! A friend liked the one she tried. Not a prolific producer for me here, in a really good year for growing tomatoes.
