Default Tomato/pepper mix?

Can a tomato and pepper cross? On another fourm a lady says this guy had it happen. IMHO it can not happen as two different familes of plants. Aren't they? She said the tomato was bell pepper shaped and tomato like inside not hollow. I know what stuffing tomatoes are and I grow them. A stuffing tomato could cross with a tomato and have same shape and different inside? In fact I do not know where stuffing tomatoes come from?

No, peppers of any kind and tomatoes, can not cross pollinate.

She's talking about a flap that happened a few years back when it was represented that such a cross had occured and it had not. There are several tomato varieties that resemble bell peppers in shape.
