Yellow Passion Vine with fruit

Finally my yellow passion vine has started to set fruit. Had over 10 blossoms this week due to cooler weather and less humid. One of my sign language students showed me how to "hand pollinate" the flowers. It really works..I'm sure the Orchid bees had something to do with the pollination also. Will have ripe yellow passion fruit in 70 to 80 days if all goes well. Will have seeds to share if anyone is interested. Must live in "tropical" temperatures.

do you teach ASL or do you have a deaf student in one of your classes?

I teach ASL whenever needed. Mostly classes for family members who have deaf relatives or people just wanting to learn.

Cool. We have a daughter who went to school for asl.now if she could find a job doing it.

I mostly interpret court hearings and civil trials. Also interpret for different churches when needed. I'm not certified. I also interpret for area doctors for patients needing a sign language interpreter.

Passion Flower (Passiflora) grows wild in N. Georgia, and it certainly isn't tropical there. Hmm. Wikipedia says that N. American species grow as far north as Ohio.

Certainly one of the most beautiful of all flowers, beautifully photographed.

BTW, that looks more like Blue PF than Yellow.

I spent good money on the darn things and they grew like weeds.
And then came the butterflies that laid eggs that hatched caterpillars that ate them to the ground.

When I mean "yellow", I'm referring to the color fruit it produces. The actual name is "passiflora edulis f flavicarpa. The center of the flower can be different shades of blue to purple and the outer petals from light pink to white.
