Default Ugh! Anyone have KBX seeds or spare seedlings in Toronto area?

I only had 7 seeds left this year, only 4 came up, and all of them bit the dust, perhaps too much moisture. I emailed Tatiana but haven't heard back and not sure the seeds would get here fast enough in any event. If anyone has some seeds or extra seedlings or even some suckers that I could root I'd be eternally grateful!! I have some "Potato Leaf Black Cherry" stable seeds that I would happily trade...saved seeds from Purple Haze, cherries are about double the size of black cherry, same colour, less of a wild flavour and more fruity, and really big productive plants.

If no Tatiana seeds or seeds from here maybe I'll sow some Dr. Wyche's Yellow instead...prefer KBX because it seems to work well in my garden and has been near the top of the list for taste for me since I first started growing it in 2009.

Thanks!
Anthony

Post your request on the "Wanted Varieties" area, under seed exchange.
It's further down the page. That's where folks look to fill requests.
Good Luck!
Dr. Wychie's sounds marvelous as an alternative, one I've never tried.
I love Aunt Gertie's Gold over KBX myself.

Thanks, and done!!

Dr. W was my go-to for several years but was hit and miss in terms of taste; in great seasons it was firm, very fleshy (smaller seed cells), and occasionally had that 'smoky' (bacon) flavour that blacks sometimes have. I tried Aunt Gertie's Gold for a few seasons but just didn't work in my garden. Fingers crossed...

I agree that General Discussion is not the place to ask for seeds, and yes,I remember you very well, but until today you haven't posted here for two long years,so welcome back.

Do I know KBX, yes ,very well, please read Tania's page for it which I know you have but others here might not have done so.

Martha, who found it was at the old AOL site when this happened and sent seeds to several who were also there at that time, me included. A few of us were SSE members at that time and we SSE listed them and got them spread around so they became known very well.

I can't speak to the others who got seeds from her but I know I sent the seeds to Glen Drowns at Sandhill Preservation and Linda Sapp at TGS, and probably a couple of seed sites I'm forgetting.

For a while Martha was also sending me plants she raised for me and that b/c I was in the hospital and then rehab but when I got home I sent her seeds, some were mine, others were hers. r.

She is a wonderful person, but then some family medical problems appeared, I won't detail them, and she kind of disappeared.

I probably still have some KBX seeds in the back room, but too darn old to send to anyone.

Thanks very much, PM sent, very much appreciated!

And Hi Carolyn, life has been super busy and garden has been underperforming badly over the last few seasons so I've kind of been abandoning it halfway through the season...mainly due to blight hammering my tomatoes, but also having issues with poor weather and pests and who knows what. My friends and coworkers have been disappointed at the lack of produce from me, but hopefully things turn around this year!
