Raybo's EarthTainer "Farm" for 2018
Planted out about 15 days ago. Here are the varieties and layout for 2018:
Really looking forward to the new Dwarf Metallica (thanks Oakley). Will definitely be saving seeds to share at the end of the Season: So, we are off to a good start in spite of the Hailstorm and EarthQuake (same day) Raybo Last edited by rnewste; April 21, 2018 at 09:46 PM. |

Barb,
Actually, six EarthTainers less this year than the past (fewer cuke and no corn 'Tainers this Season). I'm concentrating on the new varieties (dwarf Metallica) as well as old favorites: Goose Creek, MarNar F7, Momotaro, Odoriko. Raybo |

Looks great, and nice to see that you still grow MarNar.

I love it! Have you altered the earthtainer to add even taller cages? Looks like I've got an off season project to build some replacements as some of my older ones are getting brittle and starting to leak water - no bueno!
Also - I too am a fan of MarNar! Beautiful, tasty, productive! Unfortunately, I didn't save seeds when you generously sent me some a few years ago (F3 I think) and I didn't realize how "off the books" this variety is. If someone is selling it commercially, I can't find it. If you end up with any extra seeds, I'd be happy to send a SASE for a few. This time, I'll save my own seeds! Dewayne |

Just 2 months since plant-out and they seem to be doing well:
All plants now are in the fruitset stage. Dona F1: Carmello F1: The MarNar F7 is looking fine: With some nice fruit development: The Dwarf Metallica are really dense and have developed strong stems: Very interesting stripe pattern, even at this early stage: So, I am happy as of today (no pests as of yet). Raybo p.s. Dewayne, just PM me your mailing address in September and I'll send you some of the MarNar F8 seeds. |
