That Russian Tomato
Found these in the garden today. They need a little more time to finish ripening. First impressions include: Firm at this time, larger than Prue, 6-8 oz, plant loads up a bunch, early/mid season.
I haven't cut one yet. So I don't know about seeds and meatiness. Taste will also be after full ripening. More later.

Ted, are there TWO varieties named That Russian Tomato and I ask b/c the one I know is
Indet, RL,red beef/blunt heart, huge slicer, great flavor. It was offered in the seed offer this past Spring and the person who sent me the seeds said he got it at the diner where Roxy gave him the seeds and Roxy said she got it from an old man who just called it That Russian Tomato. Carolyn, who doesn't remember you getting any seeds from this last seed offer, please correct me if I'm wrong and I can also check with Shawn who was sending out seeds requested..

Well, Carolyn, this is the plant that came up from the seeds I received from Farmer Shawn. I originally got the following:
1. Alice's Egypt ============== 2 seedlings / 9 seeds 2. Bulgarskoye Chudo ========== 1 seedling / 13 seeds 3. Father ================== 2 seedlings / 9 seeds 4. Grandma Oliver's Chocolate ===== 1 seedling / 24 seeds 5. La Grosse a Lulu ============ 1 seedling / 6 seeds (did not survive) 6. That Russian Tomato ========= 1 seedling / 7 seeds We had germination problems with Grandma Oliver's Chocolate and Shawn sent me some more seeds. I finally got one seedling after 24 seeds. I got a few more seeds from another source and had 100% germination from those. This is from the only seedling that came up for this variety from the seeds in your offer that I received. The seeds from your offer were the very first planted in my germination flats. Add to that my procedures in planting, and the chance that a mixup occurred here is ZERO. Whether or not there two or more varieties with the same name, this is the fruit that came from the seeds sent to me from your offer. I can say that I don't think I've grown this one, whatever its name really is. It's bigger than Prue and the plant is loaded up more than Casino Paste.

Here's the plant. Regular Leaf, medium size. There are 9 total clusters of fruits with each cluster having 5 to 8 fruits.
Had to hurry this picture, the rain is returning again.

That Russian Tomato
Here’s some pictures of my That Russian Tomato fruit from the offer seeds. The shape of the tomatoes I have are blocker than what yours look like. But mine are growing in the hoophouse, and are pruned to two stems, which may make a difference. It was wonderfully delicious, but not juicy. Meaty.

Well, Shawn, that makes me wonder what I might have here. Unless this thing decides to turn red as it finishes ripening, I guess we have yet another "Mystery Tomato".
I started 128 varieties this season and have 197 plants in the ground. This is the first time in the last 4 years that I've run into one that is not true to type. And the one back in 2014 was from a commercial company. I guess one cannot win them all, no matter how hard we try. Maybe it will taste good and I can use it in my juice. Okay, I'm gonna keep watching it until I'm sure it's ripe and then we'll make a final decision. Thanks from me to both you and Carolyn for your hard work and generosity in making this offer. I'll let you know if anything changes here.

Bladefan, that is awesome. If you save seeds, neighbor, I'd appreciate it if I could get a few (6 or 8) for next year. I've got a lot to trade or whatever you would like to do.
