Kumato Cherry Offspring F2
In case anyone was curious... I suppose as F2 you could see a lot more variation but what I got was a very large sprawling plant with fruits similar to F1. Fairly thick skin and OK flavor. Back to back with Black Cherry, it does not compare favorably...

I don't think you can make any conclusions about flavor in the F2 generation based on a single plant. One would expect lots of variation in flavor in the F2.

I had two plants but then a dog killed one so this was all I had. I am not generally excited about cherry tomatoes but in March I stopped at a grocery store for a snack and picked up a pint of the Kumato cherries. I’m much more interested in the stabilized full size Kumato in all their variations.

I just for fun happened to germinate 6 of the full size K's seeds. 3 of the six are looking similar to the F1, but smaller in my patch. 1 looks like a Lucky Tiger, one looks like a cherry size right now, and one is yet to even produce fruit. If anything interesting happens I will point it out here.

Update: much like many tomatoes, the taste has evolved as the season goes on. They still have thick skins but are now very sweet. I will save seeds after all. A great variety for kids or gardeners with limited time. The plant itself is huge and loaded with fruit.
