Default How many dwarfs to an earthbox?

Those who have grown dwarfs in earthboxes or straw bales, to you think three plants could fit in one earthbox?

I've grown quite a few dwarfs, but never in Earthboxes or straw bales. When in-ground I've gone as close as one plant per square foot and production was good. When growing them in containers, I went with three gallon grow bags and production was okay, but not great.

Ah yes Father's Daughter. I just remembered that 5 gallon containers are recommended for the dwarfs, so I guess just two plants per Earthbox. I am thinking of putting three Maglia Rosa's in an Earthbox though and I think that would work.

Yes, they would have done great in five gallons. I was doing grow outs for the project so not really concerned about yield which is why I went with three.

And don't forget to account for any space needed by plant supports. I grew Arctic Rose, Golden Gypsy, and Sleeping Lady in-ground this past summer. While only three feet tall, they loaded up with so many tomatoes that the stakes I was using for light support snapped and all ended up laying on the ground for the rest of the season!

I've tried three, but two definitely work better.

I believe you can get all 7 in the box.

Sorry, Couldn't resist.

I tried two later in the season in a similar setup to the earth box.
Not nearly as successful as I hoped.
You may be able to do two with some pruning. I wouldn’t do
More. And possibly one with a pepper plant and basil might work best.

Good luck.
