West Virginia Tomato's
I am a long time lurker on both sites, and this is the first time I have ever posted here.
I am interested in Tomatoes form WV...So far, these are the ones that I found: Tappy's Finest 1884 Kelloggs Breakfast Giant Syrian Hillbilly Akers WV Mortgage Lifter Old German Striped German Golden Ponderosa West Virgina Straw Are there any other that anybody knows about? Thanks, Dave |

I have a yellow fruited variety called simply "West Virginia" from the same seed source who sent me Giant Syrian (Charlotte Mullens, who was living in WV when she sent me seeds in 1990). I don't know if Giant Syrian actually originated in WV, however.
Other varieties she sent me are Gallo Plum, Toensfeldt, Cornish, Bower, Bilder, Transparent, Big Sandy, Belgiam (her spelling), and Armenian. She frequently traded seeds with people via Gardens For All, so it is likely that these came from all over the place. I would have to go back and find her letters to me to see if she designated her sources.
