Default Fall Greenhouse Grow List

Its time for me to get started with my list and germinating seed for the fall greenhouse. I have two seasons in the greenhouse-One from about September to November, and one from about December to April. I am growing 18 dwarf tomatoes and 2 dwarf sweet peppers-the sweet peppers are Franks and Lipstick. I grew both in the greenhouse last winter and they did well.

Five of the tomatoes are for the cross-hemisphere dwarf project. Eight are varieties from Andrey which I have never grown before.

Here is the list:

1.Summertime Gold 3 (pl 2) Sweet Sue

2.Summertime Gold 2 (pl 1)

3.Barossa Fest 2 (pl 1) dwarf beryl beauty

4.Summertime Green (rl 2)

5.Barossa Fest 2 (rl 2) Dwarf Kelly Green

6.Severnaya malyutka

7.Nevskiy

8.Kkraihiy Sever

9.Betalux

10.Balkonzauber

11.Amurskiy Shtamb

12.Taimy

13.Rozalinda

14.Besser dwarf from fusion-its rugose

15.Mano Rugose

16.Mini Red Cherry

17.Kimberly

18.Adelaide Dwarf Red

19.Lipstick

20.Franks

What will the rest of you folks be doing in your greenhouse this fall/winter?

I will be attempting to grow some dwarf or compact varieties in my removable greenhouse this fall.

It will be interesting for zone 6.

I will be making up my mind what to grow in the next few days.

Michael, don't forget that you should expect one more package with dwarf tomato seeds in a week or so. Utyonok seeds were included as well

Krainiy Sever has a compact determinate habit. So I'm a bit sorry to send it to you as a dwarf. The last time I grew it I paid no so much attention to foliage types...

Growing those HUGE fruited Summers will be a treat I am sure! The taste was OUTSTANDING! Anything from Andrey is always fun and exciting. I am guessing the time of year you are growing his stuff for fall is perfect for a trial. Please update!!

In my greenhouse this winter I'll be raking snow off the roof of it. That's all. Sigh...

I grew more than a dozen varieties last winter in hydroponic units in North Florida. I used organic nutrients and some supplemental artificial lighting. I found that the larger varieties had inconsistent quality ranging from very flavorful to watery and mealy. But, the cherry tomatoes of several varieties were uniformly great. So this year, I've planted about a dozen cherry tomato varieties and will grow a total of about 45 plants. I'm hoping that by downsizing my expectations I can enjoy tasty tomatoes all winter, even if they are small in size.

Severnaya malyutka is the first to open flowers -15 days from transplant. Its the photo of the single plant. The other photos were also taken today. Several other varieties have flower buds.

Michael - sorry, just found this thread with your question. Severanaya Malyutka has got red globe fruits. The name means "Northern Baby" in Russian. How about its flavor?
