Default reality check....

Feeling efficient and quickly sowing my flat of 80 varieties, I dropped a clump of seeds on the floor...
No big deal but they fell into a bag of germination mix ....Also the only bag I have, that just arrived last night UPS from far away...I dug to the bottom of the bag to get the soil to cover my seeds...
I only have a flat of peppers and eggplants left to sow , so I guess when tomato seedlings appear I won't go crazy...
20 years ago I used to sow 14 or so varieties in a black tray and just leave a space between them...
I feel a down sizing coming on...

In my case, pride goeth before the fall.

I will be starting most of my seeds in the next couple of weeks, but I couldn't contain myself, so started just one four pack of dwarfs, 4 seeds per cell a few weeks ago. I figured I could keep them in my sunny bay window without having to waste electricity on my light set up until the main crop of seeds were up.

Well, I planned to give half of them to my sister, so while chatting with her on Skype (she lives 220+ miles away) I brought the cell pack to the computer to show off my fine little sprouts on the web cam. Then I put them off to the side, on a little table, just at elbow level. You guessed it. The next time I swung around, my elbow hit the pack, and it went flying ... hit the floor upside down, wet dirt on the carpet, labels all mixed up ... just a big mess. I won't have any trouble figuring out what's what after a couple of sets of leaves (Silvery Fir Tree, Sophie's Choice, Kimberly and Sprite) but makes me mad that I had to spread out and repot them into three cell packs instead of the ONE that I had window room for.
