Awesome! I think starting early is going to pay off for you bigtime!
I planted another 21 plants today bringing my total to 29. Maybe 6 more on Tuesday.

That looks good.
I still have a six week wait. Can I ask what are the bottles for? Is that part of your watering system? |

Morgan, I actually started the seeds 12-13 days later but they went in the ground exactly 1 year from last years plant out. I felt like I was a little behind from last year but with the past couple days being in the 90's with lots of sun, the plants have really reacted. I plan to take a pic on the 26th so I can compare with last year.
Leroy, I used the soda bottles filled with water when I covered the plants recently due to cold temps. Just havent picked them up yet. Last edited by duajones; March 16, 2008 at 10:22 PM. |

Looks great! When did you start seeds? I haven't seen any plants here at stores or nurserys that are as big and tall as your plants. Really nice!

Don, I started seeds January 6th and put the plants in the ground February 24th, so the plants are 21 days from transplant.

Dice, I had the winter rye in only one of the two tomato beds and also in two real small cuke beds. I grew it in one small cuke bed that had nematodes and in the smaller tomato bed that is only a few feet away. I have no idea what the effect will be. Weed whacked and tilled under a couple weeks before planting
