Oops...You Caught Me! Guess I should Have Been Weeding (PICS)
O.K., just taking a break from weeding - NOT!
The corn is waist-high, and it is not even "the Fourth of July". Still waiting to find my first weed. The Purple Haze have at least 50 fruit per plant. ..and the Stupice keep on pumping.. ...now, if there were only some work for me to do around the garden... Ray |

dcarch,
Funny, I was just sitting here looking at today's photograph, and saying the same thing! The cages now reach 78" high, but the Purple Haze are within a few inches of the top already. Guess I am going to have to begin topping these critters soon. While I could add another 33" cage extension, I would probably fall off the step-ladder trying to pick the ones at the top. Ray |

Ray, I would add an extension on one or two indeterminates. It would be valuable information to see what the growth potential is for growing in that size container.

Jay,
I am letting one Cherokee Purple "climb to the sky" - - now over 8 ft. tall. But I am topping the ones in the main garden, as I really don't want to get up on a ladder to pick tomatoes. I will have more tomatoes than I can ever eat and give away, from plants that are capped at 6 ft. Ray |

What growing medium are you using? I use a miracal grow vegetable mix. Just added some pics of mine. Have a great day Chuck. |

Hey Chuck and Alberta,
Thanks. Not doing anything really special - just using regular potting mix and Tomato-tone fertilizer. I'm experimenting with Myco-Grow fungi additive on some plants. Am experiencing some Oidium Mold on leaves in the shade which Carolyn helped diagnose and am treating with Daconil. Here is today's "landscape": Also found my FIRST weed today!! See if you can spot it in the 6 o'clock position: The Weed had a beautiful root system reaching way down into the EarthTainer. Ray |
