Kellogs Breakfast X Akers West Virginia
This is a cross that Mark Korney made. He grew it to the F4 stage and stopped. He sent me some seed and I'm growing the F5. It really is a tomato machine as you will see by the pictures. Here is what Mark had to say about it. Ami
Kellogg's Breakfast was the mother and Aker's West Virginia the male. I was disapponted in not hitting an orange segregate and pretty much moved on to Cherokee Bi-Color which had more value, a bi-color from Cherokee Green, and haven't grown KBxAWV since. Sometimes it has been called "Kellogg's West Virginia" too.

Greg, seed was sown 16 Mar 08. Plants were set out first week of May. I don't expect the fruit to get any bigger than a baseball. This past week we have had cooler temperatures and rain. I figure I should have some ripe fruit by the end of this month. It still is shooting out more flower clusters and setting fruit. Reminds me of the Isis Brandy I grew out last year in terms of size and production. Ami

Went out and counted 50+ tomatoes on my plant. This Kellog's West Virginia of Korney is really putting out the fruit and is acting like an semi indeterminate as there is going to be quite a few fruit ripening within a short period of time. Can't wait to see the color when their ripe. Here's pics taken today. Please excuse the picture quality.Ami

About how big are they Ted? Tennis ball or larger? Also, I think the seeds YOU will harvest will be F5... I'm trying to dig up my records & maps to confirm but it has been a couple years since I grew it I think...
EDIT: OK, I looked up everything, the cross was in 2002 and I grew it since then in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006. I didn't grow it last year. So I think that means that you're growing F5... Last edited by korney19; July 24, 2008 at 03:28 PM. |

Mark right now they are tennis ball+ size but it would'nt surprise me if some are larger when mature. The pack of seeds you sent me said F4 so these are F5. The production so far is amazing and it is still setting fruit. Can't wait for the taste test. Ami
